Executive Coach
Carolyn Swinton is an Executive Leadership Coach with Innolect Inc. During her 30 years in nursing, Carolyn has served in several clinical leadership roles, including Chief Nurse Executive for the largest healthcare system in South Carolina. She currently serves as Affiliate Faculty at the University of South Carolina College of Nursing, and Affiliate Clinical Associate Professor at the Clemson University School of Nursing.
In addition to her extensive clinical background, Carolyn possesses expertise in leadership coaching, conflict resolution, operational excellence, innovation and program development. Since 2018, she has coached middle managers and senior-level executives. She focuses on the development of self-awareness, effective communication and conflict resolution skills. Carolyn employs a compassionate, yet direct approach to coaching and is known for her ability to quickly identify barriers to personal and professional success. She supports her clients as they transform their ways of thinking, speaking, and achieving sustainable change.
Carolyn brings a rich and varied education to her client engagements. She is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives, Fellow of the Riley Institute Diversity Leaders Fellowship Program, and an ANCC Board-Certified Nurse Executive. She is also certified by the International Coaching Federation, is a Newfield Network Coach for Personal and Professional Mastery, and is certified in the Leadership Circle 360 and Manager Edition. Carolyn earned a doctorate degree in Nurse Executive Leadership from the University of South Carolina College of Nursing.
Carolyn is committed to supporting her clients’ personal and professional mastery. She engages with individuals and organizations who are ready to embark on journeys to awaken their unique gifts, skills and talents. She lives her purpose through her extracurricular activities, as well. She serves on the boards of several state and local nonprofit organizations whose mission is to support the underserved and disadvantaged to gain social and financial stability. Carolyn is also the author of “Chasing Hope” Blog, “Reflections of Nursing,” and co-editor of “The Untold Stories of Nursing.” For fun, she likes to read, play guitar and travel.
